Southampton Halloween 2014: What’s on and where, set times

As DBP’s multi-venue Halloween party draws ever closer, a full setlist has been released by the Southampton based promotions company, giving the lowdown on who’s on and where, providing you with all the info you need to navigate the immense city-wide event. As befits a roster filled with multiple headline acts, the higher-profile artists have been spread across venues, meaning that you will likely be travelling from time to time between clubs to catch all of your favorite acts. Southampton city-centre will be transformed into a night of the living dead as an estimated 5,000 clubbers wander the streets clad in their best Halloween get-up for what is Southampton’s largest club-crawl. Nothing on DBP’s lineup take your fancy? There’s plenty more going on elsewhere …
Earlier on in the night, you can catch DJ Fresh at Oceana’s Ice House, playing between 12.30 and 1.30, followed by Zinc  from 1.30 until 3.00. Meanwhile, drum and bass veterans, Camo & Krooked headline at The Cellar, from 1am until 3am. Those partying through to the early hours will be duly rewarded for their efforts as Redlight closes the night at Switch playing from 3.30 all the way up untill 5 am. The Bristol raised, and now London based producer has had an incredible year, from his 36 EP in March through a summer of even more releases, there seems to be no stopping Redlight with the unveiling of another big tune last week, Gold Teeth, produced alongside the hugely successful 9Ts (90s Baby), and further talk of an album on the way.

Also worth catching, are house duo Toyboy & Robin at Cafe Parfait from 11.00 – 1.00, Meanwhile My Nu Leng, of Black Butter Records, who’ve quickly put themselves on the map following a summer of touring and  their well received Masterplan EP, will be playing from 2.00 until 3.30 at Switch. The full list of Southampton venues taking part in DBP’s multi-venue Halloween party Oceana, Switch, The Cellar, Orange Rooms, Cafe Parfait, 90 Degrees, Tokyo, Buddha, Revolution, RoXX, and Aura. A pocket sized flyer detailing artists’ set times across all the venues will be provided at the event’s wristband exchange.

Junk are also putting on their own Halloween party, with the return of their Bang Bang brand club night, featuring Hannah Wants, notorious as the leading lady in the recently emergent wave of harder hitting bass oriented house. Joining the Birmingham raised DJ and producer, are BitR8, K1R3Y, Gavin Foord, Francis Lee, Geaorge Francis & Jakuzé.

Also on this Halloween weekend, Huxley is booked to play a 3 hour set as part of his album tour at the Mo Warehouse on Friday 31st, and will be accompanied by Maribou State. Meanwhile, Kissy Sell Out will be performing at Oceana.

Over at Junk on Saturday 1st November, the award winning Best British small club will be injected with some Ibiza vibes as it plays host to Zoo Project Ibiza. for a Halloween special. Up against Junk’s offering on Saturday 1st, Switch has Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ Hot Creations label descending on Southampton to show case their talent, with co-founder Lee Foss, headlining the night and accompanied by Patrick Topping and wAFF.
