Skream will return to Junk Southampton this Easter Sunday

With Junk’s Spill The Milk headliners revealed all the way up to the end of March, the London Road based club has iced the cake with a little something extra to kick off April. For their Easter Sunday special, Junk will be hosting Skream on the 5th April. The ever popular dubstep turned disco master will be heading to Southampton hot off the end of his much talked about XOYO residency. One of the rising stars of the past decade, Skream has firmly established himself as one of electronic music’s finest tastemakers. Having made his name in the early London dubstep scene, Skream has cut loose setting off on his own trajectory, exploring disco, house and whatever else takes his fancy.

Real name, Oliver Jones, Skream’s musical career started out working in South London record store, Big Apple, as a teenager. Thanks to his involvement with the store and frequently DJ slots at FWD>>, Jones found himself at the epicenter of the developing dubstep scene. 2011 would see Skream and Benga take over Radio 1’s prestigious In New DJs We Trust slot a testament to he and his frequent collaborator’s influence. Along with Artwork and Benga, Skream would receive critical and commercial success as Magnetic Man. Skream, however soon sought a change of pace from the enormous festival and arena shows that came with his global status. This led Jones to launch the Skreamizm brand, initiated as a series of intimate club venues, in which he’d play extended sets, defying any previous labels applied to him. Accordingly it wouldn’t be much to expect Jones to be right at home behind the decks in Junk’s famous island booth.

With the date recently announced, tickets are still yet to go on sale.
