SILO will debut at Switch with Culture Shock for a Southampton Soundclash warm-up

The team responsible for Southampton’s new Tuesday drum and bass night, SILO presents, will be making their debut at Switch come the end of April for a Southampton Soundclash warm up night. As in keeping with their previous events, SILO have locked down some seminal drum and bass artists to headline the night. Ram Records will be out in force with Culture Shock, and recent signings Gerra & Stone heading up the night’s roster.

Culture Shock, otherwise known as James Pountney, began his musical experiments as a teen with a rudimentary self made studio setup. Having developed a passion for jungle and dnb listening to London’s pirate radio stations James’ own productions would reflect longstanding passion for the genres. Following his first EP being put out on Moving Shadow, Culture Shock would later be picked up by Andy C, and his first release on Ram, ‘The Bypass’ quickly made an impression. Ever since Culture Shock’s repetoire has grown and grown, with numerous EPs to his name as well as performing remix duties for the likes of Crystal Fighters, Netsky and MTA’s Moko.

Joining Culture Shock, will be Gerra & Stone. The duo from Bristol and SOuthampton have recently migrated from Dispatch Recordings to Ram, and in their short time under Andy C’s roof have already been hard at work featuring tracks on the label’s 2015 Drum and Bass Annual as well as the recently released RAMAIMI compilation. Lunos, Whitey, Chemical Case, and F.T.S B2B Withdraw are all on the bill with MCs Visionobi and Combat Collins hosting.
