Last week organisers unveiled the Warehouse after-party (hosted by On A Mission) at Engine Rooms (formerly The Mo’club) would be headlined by DJ Zinc, playing a two hour jungle set. Route 94, otherwise known as Tyler Jones had an incredible year in 2014 with his single My Love featuring Jess Glynn saw breakthrough and receive mainstream success with a UK number one. The success of My Love saw Jones release his second Route 94 EP, Misunderstood towards the end of last year on Leftroom. Route 94 was originally a mysterious alias, adopted by Jones to allow his first house dubplates to be played by Skream & Benga on their Radio 1 show back in 2012 without being bound to the reputation of his previous alias, Dream, known for a number of dubstep tracks released on OWSLA.  Route 94 is no stranger to the Southampton crowd, having played back to back alongside Skream at the Mo’Warehouse (now Engine Rooms) and also appeared at Switch during its opening run of bookings back in the autumn of 2014.

Zinc has been revisiting his roots at a number of recent festival and club gigs, playing classic DnB and Jungle sets, drawing on over two decades of experience. Since his early career starting out in 1991 on Impact FM, Zinc has had a number of hits across his career including his most renown track, Super Sharp Shooter and his collaboration with Missy Elliot, Wile Out. Recently Zinc’s taste in production has shifted and seen him begin producing tracks in a new style that he has coined as ‘crack house’, fusing flavours of deep, funky and fidget house.  His most recent release, Show Me was a firm favorite in many DJ’s sets throughout 2014 gaining support from the likes of Annie Mac and Redlight.

Individual tickets for Warehouse and Switch afterparties are priced at £6 each, while a festival + after-party package is available for £30. Ticket links can be found here.
