Eton Messy to headline Freshers’ Garden Party at Sobar

The immortal Portswood venue Sobar is stepping up again this autumn, with DJ/YouTube collective Eton Messy set to headline the Freshers’ Garden Party presented by Warehouse Southampton (DBP & High Tide). Taking place on the 27th of September, Eton Messy’s trademark summery house/future garage vibes will be welcoming the Freshers of 2014 to Soton life.

Eton Messy need little introduction to anyone with a working internet connection, bringing countless UK artists to over a quarter of a million YouTube subscribers and holding their own stages at the likes of Gottwood Festival and Bestival. The Bristolian based powerhouse are made up of Adam Englefield, Charlie Wedd, and Ed Byass with the the first two heading up A&R duties and performing as the Eton Messy DJs, and Ed taking charge of the business affairs; making sure EM-branded events are up to scratch.

The Eton Messy DJs will also be supported throughout the day by regular veterans of the Southampton circuit including:

  • Gary Bennetton b2b Stephen Knight
  • Gavin Foord b2b Charlie Fox
  • Chris Beale b2b Lewis Whitlock

Further to that, the official promo material states that there are some ‘special guests TBA’ so look out for more lineup announcements in the coming weeks.

Following on from the daytime garden party there will be an official after party at the Mo Warehouse running from 10:30pm through to 4am. Full details on that will be revealed in mid August.

The Eton Messy Freshers’ Garden Party will run from 2pm-10pm at Sobar. Tickets (£8/£10) will be available to purchase soon via Warehouse Southampton.
