In a similar style to previous years, this event will be spread across multiple Southampton venues. Specifically, these ten: RoXX, Revolution, 90 Degrees, Aura, Buddah Lounge, Orange Rooms, Tokyo, Cafe Parfait, Switch, and Oceana. The combined capacity for all these venues is well in excess of 4000.
The headline acts mentioned will be performing at various times throughout the evening (well, morning) and at different venues. A selection of local DJs are also billed to play sets throughout the night, including ThemAgen and the High Tide residents. The complete schedule will be released in the weeks running up to the event.
Daniel Stein, best known as DJ Fresh, is an English record producer and DJ known for making electronic music. He was one of the principal members of drum & bass supergroup, Bad Company, alongside Darren White (dBridge), Jason Maldini, and Michael Wojcicki (Vegas). He also owns and runs the pioneering drum & bass label Breakbeat Kaos with Adam F. DJ Fresh released his third studio album, Nextlevelism in October 2012 on Ministry of Sound Recordings, which includes the two No.1 hits singles “Louder” and “Hot Right Now” – the UK’s first dubstep and drum and bass No.1’s respectively – “The Power”, “The Feeling” and “Gold Dust”. Currently working on his fourth studio album – due for release at the end of 2014 – DJ Fresh recently scored two top five hit singles with “Earthquake”, a collaboration with Mad Decent label boss Diplo featuring Dominique Young Unique and “Dibby Dibby Sound” a collaboration with St Louis producer Jay Fay also featuring the legendary garage vocalist Ms. Dynamite.
Following on from his collaborations with Diplo, Jay Fay and more recently with D&B legend TC on ‘Make U Bounce’, DJ Fresh is back with his new single ‘Flashlight’ featuring the vocal talents of multi-platinum Brit Award winner Ellie Goulding:
Elsewhere over the Halloween weekend, DBP have also organised two Warehouse Southampton (WH) events. Friday 31st October will see Huxley play a 3 hour set, with support from Maribou State, and Saturday 1st November will see the Hot Creations brand take over the Mo Warehouse with Lee Foss, wAFF, and Patrick Topping.
