Last week Warehouse announced a spate of new artist bookings that will be make appearances at Switch in the coming months. With repeated sell outs in recent months, and their upcoming Annie Mac Presents date selling out in just over an hour, Warehouse don’t seem to be able to put a foot wrong. The latest reveals of Lee Foss, Claude VonStroke, George Fitzgerald and Darisu Syrossian are testament to the consistency of the Warehouse brand’s bookings. As of yet, not all of the artists’ appearances have been given dates, but are likely to make up a portion of Switch’s spring and summer calendar.
Raised in Detroit, Barclay Crenshaw, better known as Claude VonStroke currently calls Venice Beach his home between extensive tour dates. As Claude VonStroke, Crenshaw has become renowned for his fresh approach to production and finesse on the decks. Crenshaw’s open minded music policy has been instrumental in cultivating the fun, original, and funky sounds that have come to characterized his label Dirtybird Records. Coincidentally, Crenshaw’s co-founder Justin Martin is also set for an upcoming appearance in Southampton, having recently been announced for High Tide’s first boat party of the year on Easter Sunday.
After headlining the Hot Creations showcase last November, Warehouse have been eager to arrange Lee Foss’ return to Switch. Warehouse have already got a date in the diary for Foss as he is scheduled to appear on Saturday 6th June. Having grown up in Chicago, the birthplace of house, Lee currently splits his time between living in London and LA, allowing him to hone his skills at prestigious clubs on both sides of the Atlantic. Foss is also highly acclaimed for his side project, Hot Natured with Hot Creations’ founder Jamie Jones, with live support from Ali Love and Luca C to make up their full ensemble.
Darius Syrossian will be making an appearance alongside Sidney Charles and Santé, under the Tribal Sessions banner. Tribal Sessions has been an integral part of Sankeys Manchester since its inception, and has recently graduated to its sister club in Ibiza. Last summer saw Tribal Sessions take up a twenty week residency at Sankeys on the white isle. Syrossian heads up the night as returning resident of the Tribal Sessions brand.
George Fitzgerald will be making a welcome return to Southampton, having last made an appearance in 2013 hosting a Halloween Boat Party for High Tide. Fitzgerald has a diverse musical history attending garage nights in his early years, before securing his own gigs playing dubstep at London’s FWD>>, then pioneering a move towards the infectious and catchy house rhythms that would run rife among his own productions. The British producer and DJ has taken up living in the techno mecha that is Berlin, and as his sound has matured he has seen releases on Hotflush, Hypercolour and Aus Music. Fitzgerald has been confirmed to play at Switch on Saturday 21st March.
