Every year, the life of Richard RJ Williams — a well loved and well respected DJ, friend, colleague, and family member — is celebrated in Southampton. This year the party is taking place at Ninety Degrees (upstairs) and as always, the night will be run in aid of Leukaemia Busters, a charity that both funds and conducts research focused on discovering and developing novel antibody-based treatments for patients with leukaemia and other related blood cancers.

There will be live music throughout the evening with DJ sets from BITR8, Gavin Foord, Paul Aki (Ape Like), Charlie Fox, RDTM, Dujy Fresh, Alex Whichelo, and others.

Richard was a DJ at Junk (now TRiPP) and The Whitehouse (now Café Parfait) and was also involved with the music scene across Southampton, giving young and aspiring local DJs a platform from which they kick-started their careers.

Rich was widely regarded as the nicest guy/DJ you were ever likely to meet. He was such an incredible person to so many different people. He loved his family, friends, job, colleagues, his music, a vodka and a dance. So every year, after his nearest and dearest have played golf all day, we celebrate by having a night filled with a selection of amazing DJs, live acts, loads of freebies and more with all proceeds going to Leukaemia Busters.

— Charlie Fox

Suggested donation is £4/£5 and the night runs from 7pm till 2am. The organisers have also put together a raffle with a serious selection of prizes: 2x tickets to Junk Department’s Big Top, a voucher for Connery’s Barbershop, vouchers for Mexigo Burrito Bar, 10x VIP tickets to The Astoria in Portsmouth, £30 of bespoke birthday cake vouchers, 2x tickets for any show at The Joiners in the next month, 2x VIP tickets for Duke Dumont’s show at Oceana, a VIP party package for Ninety Degrees, and a meal for two at La Margherita.
