This Friday (4th April 2014) in Southampton there’s a party happening in a church. Some readers may recognise the venue as The Church used by Future Garden and by others before them. Located on Trinity Road in St Mary’s, the church has actually been re-purposed and is now the Afro-Caribbean Centre. That’s not to say, however, that it doesn’t still make for an incredible venue. For this event the promoters will be kitting out the ‘prayer hall’ with a decent soundsystem, lights, lasers, and all that stuff. The focus is ‘good people, better music’.
The music policy will be varied, with DJs playing a bit of everything: house, techno, disco, garage, soul, funk, and more.
Lined up to play throughout the evening are a selection of Southampton-based DJs that many will recognise from nights across the city: Carlington, Crown Jewels, Jakuzé, Jay Ahmed , Matt Kelly, Moth, South Royston, Jobe (ModaSoul), and more TBA.
Tickets are £10 advance only and it’s BYOB (bring your own booze) with a free bar before 11pm (yup). 18+, ID required.
Doors open at 8pm. Tickets and more information available via Fatsoma.
