This week (Friday 4th April) Lose Your Head are set to bring Taiki & Nulight to Unit, Southampton. Support will come from Pelikann, Luna Grooves, and Conka. Room 2 will be hosted by Steam (a project born out of Sound System at Rhino, headed up by George Francis & Jakuzé). It’s £4 entry on the guestlist before 23:30.

Taiki & Nulight is Erka Chinbayer, an experienced DJ and producer who, after turning plenty of heads as part of the duo, has now taken on the moniker solo. In the early days back in 2011, Taiki & Nulight released an array of on-point dubstep and electro records on labels like Herve’s respected Cheap Thrills and Benga’s Benga Beats, as well as turning out a steady stream of remixes for the likes of Foamo and My Nu Leng.

As is the inherent way with electronic music, Taiki & Nulight has now evolved into a project as likely to look towards garage skip as it is a house rhythm for its inspiration, and ensuing releases on labels like Subway Recordings and Cheap Thrills have picked up support from players like Skream, Disclosure and Roska, topped Beatport charts for 14 weeks and also picked up plenty of plays on Radio 1, Kiss and many other underground stations.

As a DJ, Erka is comfortable spinning a wide range of energetic and uplifting sounds from across the electronic spectrum. He has done so to date at places like Batofar in Paris, Rainbow Venues in Birmingham and many places around London. In turn, Taiki & Nulight is an ever more in demand producer, with his latest work popping up on influential outlets like Party Like Us and Black Butter and making an ever more lasting impact.
