CULT are having a birthday bash for Something Different Records who have just turned two on Saturday 19th October at The Cellar. Earlier in the year CULT hosted Something Different label boss Jesus Pablo, so it seems fitting that they’re now throwing a party. Representing Something Different will be Skeleton Army and Scientific Funk, both relative newcomers to the label. Expect plenty of techno and tech house, with some garage thrown in for good measure.
Skeleton Army aka John Morrow (who’ll be playing a 3 hour set) made his debut in electronic music while still in his teens, signing for the now legendary Moving Shadow as a member of drum & bass pioneers Foul Play, probably best known for their remix of Omni Trio’s “Renegade Snares“, now considered a genre defining classic. After two Foul Play albums, John branched out from drum & bass to produce breaks and house, both solo and collectively under several aliases including Johnny Halo, whose releases on Cellar Door received worldwide DJ support. In recent times, John has increasingly devoted himself to producing bass fueled house music, with the birth of Skeleton Army.
