EVENT: ITCHY FEET – 13.06.13

Itchy Feet has only just started a club night in Southampton this year, and it is one of the most successful nights to grace our nightlife scene in a while. Itchy Feet itself is a brand based around what they describe as “vintage dance nights”, in addition to their own radio show, podcasts and private events. Their events can be found around the country, and so far locally they have held three in The Cellar, all of which have sold out in advance and pretty damn speedily too! Expect to hear funk, soul, rock ‘n’ roll, swing, rhythm & blues, reggae, and ska from Itchy Feet residents such as Count Skylarkin, Leo Bedford and  DJ Ben Echo; check out Ben’s mix here as an example:

Itchy Feet’s presence in Southampton came about quite organically, Josh Cutting who organises it here just happened to bump into Sheffield’s organiser at one of the events up north and got chatting. Since he had so much fun that night the only logical step to take would be to bring it home and the rest as they say, is history.

This time around Itchy Feet are moving onto bigger things; their huge success here so far has necessitated a bigger venue so this time around their summer party will be held in Junk. As before there’s no fancy dress, but whip out those trouser suspenders and cocktail dresses ‘cause y’all know we’re going to dress fancy!
