Bang Bang at Junk will play host to arguably the most influential player in the current D&B scene, Friction, on Thursday 10th October. Friction, real name Ed Keeley, truly is a drum and bass legend. Having had releases on numerous renowned labels such as Hospital Records, Metalheadz, and Tru Playaz, it comes as no surprise that one of his many, many accolades is a deserved spot in the D&B Hall Of Fame, which he was awarded with in 2011 at the Drum and Bass Arena Awards.
He is the boss and founder of the mighty Shogun Audio, which has released bangers from boundary-pushing artists such as Alix Perez, Icicle, Noisia, Spor, and S.P.Y, to name a few. As if that were not enough, he somehow finds time to present his own award-winning D&B show on BBC Radio 1, which he has been hosting for the past year.
His stamina on the wheels of steel is unrivaled. He is known to have played up to six-hour long sets, as well as employing the use of not only three, but four turntables at one time. Perhaps this is why he is in such high demand for clubs and festivals across the globe.
Bringing the hype throughout Friction’s set will be his loyal MC: Linguistics.
Be sure to check out Friction’s BBC 1 Radio show, Saturday nights (well, Sunday mornings really) from 3am.
Have a listen to Friction’s essential mix for a bit of a taster:
Support will come from Gerra & Stone, Photon, Dub Concept, Body Flex, and F-Stop b2b Kush-T.
