Last week Junk kicked off their WEAREJUNK brand with a Hypercolour Records showcase. This week they’ve got Defected Records in the house. Defected is a pretty huge label that has been running since 1999. Basically if you’ve ever been to a club, where the DJ was playing house music, the likelihood is that at least one of the records you heard was signed to Defected. Representing Defected will be Flashmob and Sam Divine, two artists who exemplify the label’s musical output that has come to gain Defected their status as one of the biggest dance music labels in the world.
Flashmob, are an electronic production team from Italy. Here’s a two hour mix from them, recorded at Watergate (Berlin) in July:
Long associated with the legendary Defected Records, Sam Divine has come a long way since being a record shop employee having spent the last seven years being a key component to the White Isle’s party scene. Her travels have seen her tour throughout Europe as well as Brazil, Chile, Japan and Dominican Republic, with festival highlights including We Are FSTVL (UK) and Pacha Festival (The Netherlands) as well as securing a three year residency at Ushuaia, Ibiza.
