If you were out last Thursday (16th January) there was really only one place to be: Rhino. New club night Sound System was in full swing with Hannah Wants … and the resulting photo and video evidence confirms the quite frankly ridiculous antics that were going on in the club throughout an otherwise uneventful Thursday evening. One might say it was going off.  This week, Case & Affect will be providing the soundtrack with support from George Francis & Jakuze, LUC∆, and Logika.

A little over a year after starting out, Midlands duo Chris Lorenzo & Kane aka Cause & Affect have some great accolades – fans of their rambunctious sounds include Stateside tastemaker Claude von Stroke, Bristol bass man Eats Everything and house royalty Roger Sanchez. Listen to their music and its no surprise Dirtybird were quick to snap them up for an EP, “Don’t Like To Do”, which was a quirky, off kilter track with a heavy bottom end, plenty of inventive samples and devilish dancefloor dynamics.

Melting tech house with garage, bassline business with plenty of swing, their inventive sounds have taken them all across Europe and the UK, as well as earning them the support of Kiss and BBC Radio 1. Most notably , Rinse FM were so impressed by their singular sound they offered them a weekly Wednesday show that has gone from strength to strength. Much like their energetic 4 deck DJ sets, the show has allowed them to showcase the exciting new scene they have built up around them.

Half of this duo, Chris Lorenzo, is also known for pioneering the jack house/bass scene sounds that have grown exponentially in recent years. Now this duo are continuing in that good form; continuing to confound expectation and mix together exciting elements from a range of musical movements.
