Arcadia Stage

The line up for Boomtown this year is massive with such a wide range of genres being touched on. Some of the heavyweight names appearing are Bob Marley’s legendary band The Wailers, The Cat Empire, Jimmy Cliff, Shaggy, NOFX, Raggasonic, Lady Saw and Chronixx.

Southampton Solent based student Lukas Mohn is running a stage at BoomTown part of Gorilla Tactics Productions in the Wild West District. The stage is called ‘Wrong Side of the Tracks’ which will look like a Train Station. Music policy is Rreggae, Breakbeat, Bassline, Hip Hop and Electro Swing. This stage will certainly have a great vibe and feel to it, defiantly worth checking out and supporting a Soton head.

SOTONIGHT Recommends

Easy Star All Side – Dub side of the Moon.

This band maybe unknown to a few people, but if you love Pink Floyd and you love reggae and you want them mashed together this is the band for you. Also they have done covers of Radiohead and The Beatles they are an incredibly talented band that have been around for many years with a great sound, mixing together happy reggae vibes and classic tunes.

Dub Phizix & Strategy

Drum and Bass doesn’t get much better than seeing Dub Phizix, a DJ/Producer that has defined a style of DnB with tribal style drums and hard hitting basses. Dub Phizix has played in Southampton on multiple occasions and never let down on smashing out a set you wont forget. On the mic is Strategy the vocalist for the dance floor banger ‘Marka’ and front man for Broken English. Combined Dub Phizix and strategy create the perfect pairing for a set not to me missed.

Molotov Jukebox

A band that is so suited for festivals has to be Molotov Jukebox, Perfect for dancing in the sun to upbeat tunes. Its hard to describe what genre this band would fit into, with catchy trumpets, fast drums and accordions but it doesn’t matter. You may even recognize the lead singer Natalia Tena as she has stared in Harry Potter and Game of Thrones.

Boddika

Being signed to one of the most upcoming labels in the country, Swamp 81, has brought about Boddika’s own independent sound to techno with heavy hitting release one after another.

Arcadia Stage

A giant metal fire breathing spider, the arcadia stage is certainly a spectacle to see let alone rave under at a festival. It can only be found at boomtown and Glastonbury. Boomtown have gone all out bass this year on the arcadia stage with artist like Rockwell (Shogun Audio), Optiv and BTK (Virus records) Audio (Ram Records) and many, many more.
