For this edition in the series, we would like to introduce FRE$H

Urban nights in Southampton come around as often as buses on a Friday night, there’s a ton of them. Venues continually play the same game by using urban flavours during their regular DJ sets and calling it an urban night. FRE$H at JUNK is pioneering something totally different, a series of nights that will see some of the UK’s biggest and freshest acts tear down one of the South’s most famous clubs, each and every Friday.

The series has been in existence for just over 4 weeks, which has provided Southampton with a much needed urban hub for real urban acts. Some of the acts that have already graced the decks have been the one and only Tim Westwood (who launched the now extremely successful series). He said that Junk “was the place to be on a Friday night“. Legends DJ Luck and MC Neat were next up, once again the floor was jammed full of ravers eager to get their fix. The duo were quick to add that it was the “best rave they had been too all year” you can see where this is heading right?

Seani B made FRE$H his home for the evening last week, which I was lucky enough to attend and see for myself what FRE$H was all about. Urban music plays such a massive part in Southampton’s nightlife and culture that it was a relief to finally see such credible acts acknowledging the fact that Soton has so much to offer, FRE$H at JUNK is most certainly something you need to check out even if urban isn’t your main thing the hype and the vibe you get will most certainly make you feel at home.

Next up (this week) will be the UK’s most famous crew ‘So Solid’, tickets are going fast so make sure you head over to FRE$H on Facebook for all upcoming events and ticket details.

Southampton’s urban home just got a whole lot better.
